Require little woodland and rocky environments with predominantly low bushes and meadows where insects abound. So usually it is located in alpines areas, characterized by alternating rocky soils and thickets of broom, heather and common juniper. You easily find places where breeding, at the same time that ensures food, thanks to the large number of insects that exist in the alpine meadows and thickets during the short summer period. In the northern half of the peninsula appears from 600 to 700 meters, and it can be locally thunder-bar near the sea to the Catalan coastal mountain ranges.
Bird of summer with distinct nuclei among the population of the rocky Pyrenees and Pre-Prenees and other isolated villages in the mountains along the coast. Only easy to detect during the singing territorial males.
