This species, associated to steppe environments, shows a marked preference for the great plains of cereal crops and to a lesser extent, natural pasture anything, provided they have a high grass cover. It disappears in areas with presence of bushes or trees.

Common in dry areas best preserved. Once breeding is concentrated in large groups and become more difficult to locate.
